Julie Ripley-Gould E-RYT of HaTha Yoga Room is teaming up with Kate Skinner RMT to offer Yogassage. Through a combination of Restorative Yin Poses, Breath, and Massage, we will decrease tension and stress in the body, while increasing range of motion in the joints. This grounding practice will relax the body, and slow the mind.

Yoga Nidra with Gentle Movement

Date: Sunday, February 23rd
Time: 7-8pm

Today’s society is a busy place, and many of us are stressed out! Deep relaxation is important. How often do we REST?

We will move through some gentle movement followed by a Yoga Nidra practice, which is a state of conscious Deep Sleep. Yoga Nidra is an intensely powerful meditation technique. The practitioner rests comfortably in savasana during this practice.

Anyone can do Yoga Nidra, all you have to be able to do is lie down on the floor and follow the voice that is guiding you. Yoga Nidra promotes deep rest and relaxation. It calms the nervous system, leaving you less stressed. Yoga Nidra can also increase the quality of your sleep. It is said that a single Yoga Nidra practice is equivalent to 3-4 hours of sleep.

Chair Yoga 5 Week Series

Chair yoga is a gentle practice in which postures are performed while seated and/or with the aid of a chair. This is an ideal class for people who find a typical yoga session too challenging, or have difficulty getting up or down off of the floor. It is also a great form of yoga for beginners or anyone who wants to focus on a gentle practice. Chair yoga increases flexibility, strength and body awareness. When standing poses are included in a Chair yoga class, the chair is used to help with and improve balance.

Prenatal Yoga 3 Week Series

Our Prenatal Yoga Class provides a nurturing environment where you can explore the benefits of yoga. Through yoga postures, guided relaxation and breath awareness you will prepare the body and mind for birth, and at the same time, relieve the discomfort and stress associated with pregnancy. Beginners welcome!
