Julie Ripley-Gould BA, E-RYT, YACEP

Julie is the Owner and Operator of HaTha Yoga Room in Amherst, NS. She has completed her 200 hour training in Vinyasa Flow, and has also studied Yin, Restorative, Yoga Nidra and Prenatal Yoga. Julie enjoys infusing creativity into her classes, instructing free flowing asanas, and encouraging intuitive movement. She is a firm believer that yoga is for “every body,” and encourages her students to make their practice their own through modification, variation and self regulation.

Denise Allan

Denise began her yoga journey in 2000. Since then, she has attended courses and workshops in various your modalities, completing her YOGAFIT program in 2011. Denise believes you take what you need from her classes, push yourself when you’re able, modify when necessary, but always listen to and respect your body. Denise also teaches chair yoga through the YMCA and the Tantramar Seniors College. Denise believes there is a yoga for everyone, you just have to find the one that works you.

Stephanie Allen

Therapist, yoga instructor, published author and award winning speaker for over two and a half decades, Stephanie has invested in years of helping individuals strengthen their potential and purpose. With experience and degrees in Physical Education, Massage Therapy and Acupuncture she has worked with some of the world’s top companies on corporate health & well being, helping thousands of clients to live an aspired life aligned with love, contribution and purpose.  She offers energizing and empowering sessions to improve your connection inside and out that brings a dimension of healing through her practice of yin yoga, mindfulness and meditation.  

Jacki Cormier

For Jacki, teaching yoga has been a life long journey. Jacki has been teaching yoga for 25 plus years. She has completed her 500 hour YTT. Jacki offers classes in the Hatha style. Her passion for yoga, and teaching really shines when you experience one of her classes.

Coleen Davidson E-RYT, YACEP, M.Ed., BFA

Coleen has been teaching yoga for over 10 years. She is an Artist, Creativity Coach, Adult Educator and Facilitator. Coleen has studied with a variety of yoga teachers, and over the last number of years has been studying Art & Yoga with Hari Kirin. Her classes focus on being present and playful. Coleen offers a series called Courageous Creating which involves a deeper dive into the link between creativity and yoga. Coleen co-hosts a variety of “Playshops” with Sherry Smith that focus on exploring the deeper aspects of yoga, chanting, creativity, and life both on and off the mat. Coleen and Sherry are the co-creators of Dakini Wisdom Designs – intentional high-quality handcrafted jewelry. They host pop-up sales at HYR a couple of times per year and offer “Playshops” on mala making.

Cassandra Gautreau

Cassandra began her yogic journey in 2010 during her first year of university and received her 200 hour yoga teacher training at Joyful Yoga Studio in 2014 during her graduating year. She went on to teach a variety of yoga classes at the Cumberland YMCA and since then she has spent time living in Iceland and Quebec which gave her the opportunity to expand her practice and teach a variety of yoga classes to diverse groups of people. As an avid student and traveler, Cassandra finds calmness in her own yoga practice and stillness in her meditations. She wishes to share these with you.

Karen Leslie

Karen’s love for yoga began with her first Vinyasa class in 2009.  She went on to complete her 200 hour training in Kripalu Yoga at AYTT, following which, she began instructing regularly, dividing her time between Hatha Yoga Room in Amherst, N.S. and Dynamic Fitness Hot Yoga in Moncton, N.B. While in Moncton, she completed her Tapasya Hot Yoga training with Kristin Campbell, developing a proficient hot yoga instruction technique, earning popularity with her students.  In 2018, she travelled to Thailand for an intense Power Vinyasa Yoga training with Baron Baptiste. She hopes to share this specialized yoga practice with the students of Hatha Yoga Room so they too can experience the life changing benefits. 

Jay Miller

Yoga has been a part of Jay’s life for over 10 years.  After a long journey with physiotherapy – which seemed to prove unsuccessful – she turned to yoga. It was very hard to ignore how quickly her body and, surprisingly, her mind, responded and immediately she wanted to share this. She completed her YYT 200 hour training with Breathing Space Yoga in 2014. This was life-changing and a gift; a gift she loves to share. She has a passion for people and believes yoga is accessible for everybody and every body.  In her classes she loves to combine creative sequencing, a spirit of playfulness and humor, awareness, and connection. Sometimes she messes up.  Sometimes she gets nervous and forgets the sequence or mixes up left and right and that’s life, both on and off the mat!  She will always be a student of the practice and is deeply grateful for the loving wisdom her teachers, peers and students continue to share with her.

Donna Ripley

Donna has been a yoga teacher for the past 15 years. She completed her 200 hour teacher training through the Atlantic Yoga Teacher Training program in Halifax, NS in 2008. She has attended training in Chair Yoga and many workshops throughout the years. Donna is a volunteer at the YMCA and also the Tantramar Senior College. She teaches a gentle, subtle hatha yoga class and believes it to be beneficial for every body.

Sherry Smith

Sherry Smith- E-RYT, 200 hrs YTT certified in the Ashtanga and Interdisciplinary yoga; 100 hrs Restorative and Yin  yoga; Prenatal yoga, Somatic movement, Yoga Nidra, Art and Yoga with Hari Kirin; Reiki Master and certified Thai Yoga Massage Practitioner. Sherry has been teaching yoga for over 19 years and has shared her passion for the practice by teaching from her heart. She has a love for offering healing yoga which is a practice of slow and mindful movement for a deeper inner connection and awareness. Sherry is a believer of living life at your fullest potential, to practice yoga everyday on and off the mat, and to continue to learn always. Bring yoga onto your mat and then allow it to unfold into your life.

Erin Ryan

Erin received her 200 hour YTT from Breathing Space in August, 2019. Erin enjoys teaching Vinyasa Flow. She believes that Yoga helps her to be better in all facets of her life as a mom, wife, employee, daughter, and friend. When Erin is not on the mat, you may find her at the beach.
